Letter from the Secretary-General:

Dear Delegates,

It is my distinct pleasure to invite you to the 13th session of the Chicago Model United Nations Conference. Thirteen years after ChoMUN’s founding, we remain committed to running spectacular and professional committees. Our goals and principles are the same: every ChoMUN committee will be interesting and innovative, creating and facilitating debate on a number of issues both past and present in provocative and stimulating forums with the support of a truly phenomenal crisis staff.

ChoMUN XIII aims to continue this tradition by offering sixteen crisis committees from historical and modern eras. This year, ChoMUN’s committees will range in size; our twelve small crisis and two Joint Continual Crisis committees will offer a fast paced crisis simulation, while our 3 medium sized crisis committees will require delegates to work within a larger forum to gain consensus while responding to updates. Reflecting the broad interests of our staff, this year’s ChoMUN committees represent a sampling of regions and cultures, from the Knights Templar to the Filmmakers and Actors Guild of Mumbai and from the Mexican Revolution JCC to the Icelandic Althing.

ChoMUN XIII will be held from April 1st to 4th at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, a spacious and modern hotel located conveniently in the heart of downtown Chicago. If you have any questions about the conference, please feel free to contact myself or any member of the ChoMUN Secretariat.

We look forward to seeing you in April for what will no doubt be an engaging and memorable weekend.

Sincerely,

Kate Berner
Secretary-General
ChoMUN XIII
