The Halliburton Corporation
Chair: Jackie Todd (jetodd@uchicago.edu)
Crisis Director: Sara Nasser (snasser@uchicago.edu)
In a world confronting economic collapse, Halliburton Corporation still manages to face the future and work to stay afloat. Shrouded in controversy involving connections to Guantanamo Bay and illicit internal deals with the previous presidential administration, the company now finds itself on the outside looking in. This committee will be simulating the modern day conflicts facing Halliburton, including making bid-contracts with a radically different White House administration, opening a new Headquarters in Dubai, and dealing with the move to more eco-friendly energy sources. The committee will be writing up new bids for contracting in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as looking to new locations for potential, non-government business deals.
Each Director is expected to work within the corporation as a whole while managing their own company divisions. Delegates will experience the struggles and choices that are required of company directors and corporate officers.
